Get Set Learn

Privacy Policy

Last updated 6 June 2026

This notice explains what information we collect when a parent or guardian registers a student for the National Edge AI Hackathon (presented by Arduino, Qualcomm and Get Set Learn) or buys from our store, why we collect it, and the rights you have under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act).

This policy is drafted to a compliant shape and is under review by GSL legal counsel. It will be finalised before public launch; the children's-data clauses in particular are pending sign-off.

What we collect

When you register a student we collect: the student's name, date of birth, grade, and city; the parent or guardian's name, phone and email; the student's optional email; quiz responses and score; and payment status (paid / pending).

We do not collect or store card, UPI or bank details. All payment information is handled directly by our payment processor, Razorpay; we only receive a pass/fail status and an order reference.

For project submissions we store the text you enter and the Google Drive links you paste (we do not host your video or photo files).

Why we use it

  • To register the student, run the screening quiz, form teams and accept project submissions.
  • To take the ₹199 registration payment and send confirmations and quiz links.
  • To give the student's school coordinator visibility into their own students' participation.
  • To ship Arduino kits to qualifying students and to fulfil store orders.

No advertising to children

We do not use any student's personal data for behavioural advertising, ad targeting, tracking, or profiling. The DPDP Act prohibits this for children, and we apply it as a firm rule across the platform. We do not sell or rent personal data to anyone.

Who we share it with

  • Razorpay – to process the registration payment (their privacy terms govern card data).
  • Neon – our database host, which stores the data securely on our behalf.
  • Zoho Mail – to send transactional email (confirmations, quiz links).
  • Partner organisations (Qualcomm, Arduino) receive only aggregate, non-identifying participation numbers unless you give separate consent to showcase a specific project.

Children's data + verifiable parental consent

This platform is for students in Grades VI to X (ages 11 to 16). Registration can only be completed by a parent or legal guardian, who must tick a clear consent box confirming they are the parent/guardian (or have the parent/guardian's permission) before payment. We record the date and time of that consent.

As required by the DPDP Act, we process children's data only for the stated educational purpose, never for tracking or targeted advertising, and we will honour a parent's request to withdraw consent and delete the data.

How long we keep it

We keep registration and quiz data for the duration of the 2026-27 challenge cycle and for a reasonable period afterwards to issue certificates and resolve disputes, after which it is deleted or anonymised. Parents can request earlier deletion at any time (see your rights below). Final retention periods are pending legal sign-off.

How we protect it

Data is stored in an access-controlled database over encrypted connections. Payments run over Razorpay's PCI-DSS-compliant infrastructure. Coordinator dashboard access is protected by single-use email login links and short-lived sessions. We limit who on our team can see personal data.

Your rights as a parent

You may ask us to access, correct, or delete your child's information, or to withdraw consent, at any time. Email privacy@getsetlearn.info and we will respond within a reasonable time. You may also raise a grievance with our Data Protection / Grievance Officer (below).

Data breach

If a personal-data breach occurs that is likely to affect you, we will notify the Data Protection Board of India and affected parents as required by the DPDP Act, and take prompt steps to contain and remedy it.

Changes

We may update this policy as the challenge evolves or as legal review completes. Material changes will be reflected in the "last updated" date and, where appropriate, communicated by email.
